Dear JSU TJJ Canada Bus 2!
Wow-can you believe we only have one week left? It feels like we were getting off the plane just yesterday! As the saying goes, time does fly when you’re having fun!
We started off this past week by making our way down to Eilat. We walked the boardwalk where we had an amazing dinner, courtesy of Burgers Bar. We had an early night because the next morning we awoke at 4 am to begin our sunrise hike on Mount Tzfachot. When we reached the peak, the entire group watched sunrise over four different countries! We continued the day with refreshing water activities, starting with a boat cruise on the Chof Chananya coast where we had the opportunity to jump into the aqua blue water and snorkel! We continued the day’s excitement with water sports, including banana boating and tubing! Finally, we cooled down by going to the famous Tel Aviv Ice Mall! The next morning started with a trip to the famous Dead Sea, where the teens were able to experience the buoyant salt water. We continued the day with the Ein Bokek water hike, where we saw natural waterfalls. Afterwards we made our way to the famous Bedouin tents. We settled in outdoor tents in the middle of the desert, ate an authentic desert dinner, and capped it off by feeding the camels! We then left the campsite to go star gazing and ended off the night with an inspirational campfire. That night we had the opportunity to sleep under the stars. The next morning started with the Masada hike, including riding the cable cars on the way down. We then finally made our way to Jerusalem to prep for the well awaited Yom NCSY. We kicked off Yom NCSY with a BBQ, danced to the music of an upbeat DJ, continued with an astonishing drum show and finished off this amazing night with a concert and fireworks. To end off the week, we started our Thursday with the amazing Kotel Tunnel tours and experienced and participated in several Bar Mitzvahs happening at the Kotel that day. We finished off Thursday with the Jewish Journey fair, where the teens were introduced to a wide range of post high school programs in Israel. We then said goodbye, for a short period of time, at the start of a relaxing, and much needed free weekend! Everyone rested up to start our last leg of the trip this week!
